Diigo Social Bookmarking
I spent a week in Boston attending the Alan November Conference on Building Learning Communities. The conference was unbelievable. There are so many resources I was introduced to that it is hard to talk about them all in one post. In the next couple of days, I will try to post on things I learned about while at the conference. For this post, I want to focus on Diigo.
Diggo is a social bookmarking site. A social bookmarking site is one that stores your favorite websites. When you store your website links on your computer, they are only accessible on your machine. Instead of saving your bookmarks on your computer, you can save them on Diigo. Diigo is then accessible from any computer with Internet access. It is very similar to Del.icio.us but it offers more. With Diigo, you can also highlight text from any website and save that text in your Diigo account. You can also take any picture or text and post it directly to your Blog without having to do a cut and paste. It is a really powerful tool. Another feature of Diigo, is that you can post a sticky note on the text you find interesting and share it with others. When your friends see the site you are sharing, they will see your highlighted text and when they hoover their cursor over the highlighted text, your sticky note will appear.
I think you will find it to be very useful and easy to use. Use these links to learn more about Diigo and to see the bookmarks I have on my account. Feel free to browse through them.
