Welcome back from Winter Break. Hope you had time to reflect and enjoy your time off. We will resume our Technology Coordinator meetings on January 17. InfoTech 2008

Saturday, April 12, 2008     LA Convention Center

This year’s theme is “Excellence Through Innovation.” Start planning and get those projects going. If you plan on participating, please let me know so that I can reserve a spot for your school. I will keep you posted of any deadlines you will need to meet. We are also looking for teams from elementary, middle and high schools to participate in a Digital Chef Competition. The topic for the competition has not been established yet. Elementary and Middle schools will work on the project at their school site and present the final product at InfoTech. High school teams will work on the project the day of the conference. I hope your students can work under pressure. More details will be coming soon. I will post information on my blog as it becomes available. Http://ld04.edublogs.org

AlphaSmart News

AlphaSmart has upgraded their equipment. They now have programs available to improve writing skills, you can give quizzes, use them as voting devices and much more. The AlphaSmart is now called NEO. There are two versions. The NEO and NEO2. The NEO2 model has wireless printing capabilities.
If you currently have AlphaSmarts at your school and would like to upgrade them to the newer model, AlphaSmart currently has a Donation program to recycle your old AlphaSmarts and get $50 credit towards the purchase of a NEO or NEO2. There is a flyer in your packet with more information.
